Each year, the Junior League of Murfreesboro proudly awards the Horizon Scholarship to a deserving high school senior woman who demonstrates exceptional leadership and volunteerism. This scholarship is open to residents of Rutherford County who have been accepted to a four-year college or university and who have shown a commitment to making a positive impact through volunteer work in their school, church, or community.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Must be a resident of Rutherford County.
• Accepted to and attending a four-year college/university, beginning in Fall 2024.
• Minimum 3.25 GPA.
• Demonstrates strong leadership through volunteerism.

Scholarship Award:

The Horizon Scholarship provides a $1,000 award for one semester, renewable for up to seven additional semesters, for a potential total of $8,000. The scholarship recipient must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.25 to remain eligible, and grades will be reviewed by the Scholarship Committee at the end of each semester.

Applicants must submit:

• A letter of recommendation.
• High school transcript.
• Proof of acceptance to a four-year college or university.

Incomplete submissions will not be considered.

Now accepting applications until midnight March 31, 2026. Notification of recipient will begin April 20, 2026
