New Member Project

2023-2024 New Member Project: Loads of Love

Last year, our amazing new member class took on a project that made a real difference in the lives of families in need. As part of the Junior League of Murfreesboro’s commitment to community service, our new members assembled and delivered 144 baskets of essential necessities for families living in transitional housing.

The Goal:

Transitional housing offers a safe place for families as they work to rebuild their lives, and these baskets were designed to help ease their transition. Filled with personal care items, household essentials, and comforting touches, each basket provided vital support to families facing challenging times.

What Was Included:

Each basket contained items such as:

  • Toiletries (soap, shampoo, toothpaste)
  • Cleaning supplies
  • Towels and blankets
  • Non-perishable food items
  • Personal hygiene products
  • Additional essentials tailored to the needs of the families
  • Toys & Games

The Impact:

This project was about more than just providing necessities—it was about restoring dignity and offering a helping hand to those working toward a fresh start. The 144 baskets reached families in local transitional housing programs, reminding them that they are seen, supported, and cared for by their community.

A Team Effort:

The success of this project was driven by the passion and dedication of our new members, who worked together to source, assemble, and distribute the baskets. It exemplified the core values of the Junior League—service, leadership, and collaboration.

Looking Ahead:

Our New Member Project is a testament to the power of community service and how much we can accomplish when we come together. We’re proud of what was achieved last year, and we look forward to continuing this tradition of impactful service in the years to come.

This project not only helped families in need, but it also allowed our new members to develop leadership skills, form strong bonds, and experience firsthand the power of service.
